I just got back from snowboarding for 2 weeks in Gulmarg which is a small mountain town resort in Kashmir, India. Gulmarg lies roughly 100kms from the Indian/Pakistan border which is the frontline for the war over Kashmir. You may have seen Gulmarg on the news for the climax avalanche that killed 17 ,this happened on the day that we arrived. It was always going to be a snowboarding trip with a difference…
Rob Mitchell, Quentin Robbins, his lady and article writer Bex, Ben Ryan from reason films, Tyler Heffernan and myself went for the purpose of shooting photos for an article in ”Transfer” the NZ, Aussie snowboarding mag. We also filmed for ”Made You Look,’ the NZ, Aussie shred film, which is due to come out with Transfer this coming winter. We worked hard to get the pics and footage and with the epic conditions I think we have the evidence to say Gulmarg Has The Goods.
