It’s that time of year where there are glimpses of an Indian Summer and glimpses of a bitter winter. Winter is going to hit sooner or later and our best selection of Jackets, Coats and Sweats yet have arrived in stores just in time, like this Jock Jacket below. The UCLWR winter collection is alive and well. Cover up.
There are also woolen coats, cubbie jackets and sweats, knitted jerseys, sports bajas, hoods and crews for the fullas and the ladies like these below.
The time came when we had to pay our respects to Thirsty Work see it on it’s way. We drove it up on a all day/nighter from Christchurch to the Mount where it served us well running errands, doing roadies and lunch time cruises. It’s a sad day here at the Lower offices, we are playing Thirsty Work tribute songs all afternoon. Here’s Duncan it’s last full time driver just before it was taken away. Have a look at the Thirsty Work blog for more pictures and info.
Nick Hyne has just got back from a few months away competing in China and filming Japan Journals in Japan, basically living the dream. It’s the last day that we have Thirsty Work so he was glad to pay his last respects and pick up some new threads (side note: the lower chinos are flying out so make sure you pick some up). If your in Queenstown this winter season keep and eye out for Nick and Diaries Downunder. Follow him on twitter @NickHyne.

We developed the Kazu Jeans about a year ago and they are some of the best fitting women’s jeans we have come across, if we do say so ourselves. It’s hard to find a great fitting skinny jean but many a girl has fallen in love with the Lower Kazu Jean. As you can see we are quite proud of this staple Lower piece. Jeans just never get old and they are as hot as ever right now. Ladies go try some on and see for yourself. This season they are in black as well as Indigo and keep an eye out for some cool colours coming soon.
The Bone Caps are in selected stores now. The stores that have them are Backdoor, Empire, Fusion, Quest Dunedin, Roar, Stencil, Surf n Snow, Thanks and Urbanbeach.
Stay posted for another style in these fabrics coming in the near future.
We have a great new Chino that has just been released to stores in 4 colour ways Navy, Burgundy, Brown and Tan. Line up your coloured chinos alongside your staple denim and your wardrobe’s looking complete.
Most people through only a couple of degrees of separation have been hurt by the hideousness of cancer. When it’s children who suffer, the pain can be even worse. Our good pal Owen Dippie is shaving his big boofy locks with hopes to raise money for the Child Cancer Foundation.
On the 17th March at 2pm at Main beach Mt Maunganui, Owen will shave his lid. The hair that almost defines the man as much as his art will be sacrificed for this great cause. You can help too, simply be following this link and making a donation online.
Say good bye
Christchurch retail is back up and looking as good as ever. I’ve always admired James for his taste in art, culture and fashion. His office is minimal, just some eames chairs, foosball table and fake grass flooring. If you are in Christchurch you may see it next to his stores Stencil and Embassy which are in the Columbo and have a nice range of Lower also.
The cookietime factory is a must stop when driving south from CHCH, the bag of busted up cookies is the best value for the $
And today was a picture perfect day in the South
