Every true kiwi has got their favourite pie/bakery. Sometimes it gets hard with all the bakery options in town. One Tree Bakery in Mt Maunganui claims to have the best pies in town and we haven’t found a reason to disagree just yet. We hit it up this afternoon to sample his new pie Steak and Blue Cheese. It was a stunner. If you are in the Mount make sure you go visit One Tree Bakery (it’s opposite BK in the Mount).

Nick Hyne is one of the most pro-active and hardworking people in the Snow world. Traveling the world in search for back to back winters and the best powder and terrain, working with big corporates to get projects like diaries down-under and japan-journals happening. He speaks fluent Japanese and rides a snowboard as good as anyone. Nick sent us this quick memo with a couple of picks he shot with Rich Bayly.

At the core of street wear is the addiction of collecting – Shoes, watches, vinyl, hats, toys or anything else of interest. We seem to constantly have new items turning up at the Y.K.W.A.L offices. If you are a collector of, well pretty much anything you know how good the feeling is when you find what you are looking for. The other side of that is when you find what you weren’t looking for but knowing what you got is a treasure. Much of the inspiration we get is from genuine vintage items and design work. While searching for the next gold nugget this was found, an original framed photo of Sylvester Stallone with his 3m shark he caught by the Bay of Island in the far North of New Zealand. Stumbled across some gold.
