Miss this guy,
The Garden Surf, Skate & Snow is a classic old school shop owned by Chris O’Donald. After a long innings Chris is shutting the doors of the legendary skate shop. We stopped by to say hi and pay a visit before the doors close (still open for a few more weeks). If only these walls had eyes.
If you have ever purchased something, asked for stickers, left skate marks on the floor, watched a video on the couch, or spent your entire holidays in the shop with your mates then you should pop in one last time and say thanks to Chris.
Our friend James Brown is 1 side of JBrown & The Mic Smith. They are making some of the dopest soul infused drops around. Cookin Soul is one of them. We think you’ll like it too. Go check out their band camp and latest release Deja Vu here.
There’s enough social media going on to keep you occupied 24-7. As cool as it is make sure you still get away from it all sometimes.
In the mean time you might wanna follow us on instagram. Our username is lo_wer. You can see some of the latest pics to the top right of our blog as well. There’ll be behind the scenes photos, travel photos, product photos etc etc so enjoy. We’ll also have some more personal instagrams going on the sight shortly from Lex (instagram = lex_lwr) our Sales rep and Jake the big dog so stay tuned.
Here’s one of the latest photos from Tamryn who’s just arrived back from Hong Kong today.
It’s that time of year where there are glimpses of an Indian Summer and glimpses of a bitter winter. Winter is going to hit sooner or later and our best selection of Jackets, Coats and Sweats yet have arrived in stores just in time, like this Jock Jacket below. The UCLWR winter collection is alive and well. Cover up.
There are also woolen coats, cubbie jackets and sweats, knitted jerseys, sports bajas, hoods and crews for the fullas and the ladies like these below.
The time came when we had to pay our respects to Thirsty Work see it on it’s way. We drove it up on a all day/nighter from Christchurch to the Mount where it served us well running errands, doing roadies and lunch time cruises. It’s a sad day here at the Lower offices, we are playing Thirsty Work tribute songs all afternoon. Here’s Duncan it’s last full time driver just before it was taken away. Have a look at the Thirsty Work blog for more pictures and info.
Nick Hyne has just got back from a few months away competing in China and filming Japan Journals in Japan, basically living the dream. It’s the last day that we have Thirsty Work so he was glad to pay his last respects and pick up some new threads (side note: the lower chinos are flying out so make sure you pick some up). If your in Queenstown this winter season keep and eye out for Nick and Diaries Downunder. Follow him on twitter @NickHyne.
